Thinking I need to start blogging again

Big day for Jamie!

Woo Hoo! Jamie decided he didn't want to wear a diaper today. He used the potty all day with no accidents. I am so happy! Tomorrow we are going to buy him some special big boy underwear. I have a goofy song I sing with the kids when they are potty training and we are only allowed to do the song and dance (yes, there is a dance ) when they have a successful trip to the bathroom. Jamie LOVES the song/dance! Ya know how you havr to find the motivator for each child, well, my other boys and Chase liked the song, but it is like THE best to Jamie Pie. I will try to video him singing the song tomorrow. He is a riot!

We have had a super busy week and weekend so i never got around to posting again last week. I need to get back into the blogging habit. Austen spent Saturday in Austin, Tx. with a groiup of kids from his school. It was "Explore UT" Day and they got to do different activities around campus. Pretty cool. he had a super time. i asked him what the best part was and he said it was the glow in the dark bowling. I didn't even know that was an option for the day. (smile)

This week is jam-packed too, but I will do my best to update and include some pics. XOXO

Friday Fun

Chris just left here a while ago with Jamie to go to see the Elmo live show at the Nokia theater in Grand Prairie. Jamie has been talking about it all day, but I don't think he has a clue what it means to go. I ended up telling him it was an Elmo party to try to clear it up a bit. Chris' buddy is also going and bringin his 2 yr. old daughter. So it is kinda Jamie Pie's 1st date (smile). He has had a super fun day. They are sitting in the Budweiser suite, How much beer do ya think those daddies will need to survive an Elmo show???? Just kidding, I'm sure they will be perfectly responsible parents, But I am also sure they will need a beer or two (smile)

I was sick today so my parents picked Jamie up from preschool for me. Then they took him to play at McDonald's for a LONG time! I am eternally grateful because I have been napping on and off with no energy. I went to the Dr. this afternoon and have a throat infection. Not strep, but whatever. I am really hoping this antibiotic kicks in fast. I am sick of sickness. After all the stuff we had going through this house a while back, I have disinfeced everything and even had the carpets cleaned/sanitized. Good Grief! At least they gave me a shot of steroids so I can have that artificial well feeling until the antibiotic does it's job.

Tomorrow Coop has his skills assessment for soccer. He starts playing the end of March, I believe. This is an Upward team. In the fall he played soccer at the YMCA. Austen played Upward basketball for years and we loved the program! Hope the soccer is equally fun.

My wonderful mother is on her way over here with some laundry detergent and some new clothes she got the boys. I better try to accomplish something before I get to visiting with her. We have a tendency to get yapping and I do not get my house in order. Have a happy Friday night, Y'all!

Weekend update

What a fun weekend! Friday night I left my brood and headed to a local hotel to meet with a big group of Christian women for the Trietsch women's retreat. I shared a room with Cindy and a couple of my new friends from Bible Study. Friday and Saturday were both awesome! I left feeling so great.

Saturday night I headed straight from the hotel to Austen's Blue and Gold banquet for Cub Scouts. It is a very long celebration and in the past, we have always been able to cut out early because we have had little ones to get to or someone is sick or something. This tine, we were blessed with my parents keeping Little and Middle so we didn't need to worry about them and Austen's group was last to go in the ceremony since they were the oldest. So we stayed the whole time....Whoo! We were so proud to see our little guy cross that bridge and become a eal BOY SCOUT! The boys from the troop he is jopining were there to welcome him and the other Webelos who are joining that pack. Really it was cool! Austen felt like hot stuff! I have pics to upload and post later.

Speaking of Aussie being a big boy, he had aloose tooth last week and he told me that it must have come out without him noticing. This was Friday morning. I told him what I always do when we have no tooth to put under the pillow, "Just write the tooth Fairy a note and I'm sure she will still leave you something." Well, I forgot to forward this info. on to Chris who was home with the Guys on Friday night. Last night I remembered and had Chris do a little recon. work to see if the tooth Fairy had been summoned and failed to show. But Austen told Chris he wasn't going to write a note and shrugged off the whole Tooth Fairy thing. I couldn't believe it! He is the ultimate believer in Everything! I guess he's growing up, whether I like it or not. (smile)

The boys were all excited to have aboys night with Daddy on Friday. I asked them what they did when I got home and they were eager to share that Daddy took them to Toys R Us and bought new Nerf guns and they had Nerf Wars in the house. Cool Dad!

Jamie update: The antibiotics have kicked in and he is feeling much better! Allright I have a housefull of kiddoes right now so I had better go supervise. i will post pictures as soon as I can get back on here.

Poor Baby

I think his little face says it all. Jamie Pie has an ear infection and URI. He got his first bloody nose while we were waiting in the exam room. Hugs, Kisses and a nice round of antiniotics for this sick little guy.

Sick of Sick! / Facebook

I thought we had everyone feeling better...but nope! I was tutoring up at the school yesterday morning and got the call that Jamie was running a fever. He has also been coughing like crazy and not sleeping well. We are headed to see Dr. H in a few minutes. I am hoping she will cast a magic spell over him and that it carries over to the rest of us. i am not feeling great again, either. Good Grief!

We have lots going on in the next few days and we need to be healthy. Tonight Austen has his last pack meeting for his Cub Scout troop. as of Saturday he will officially be a Boy Scout! Unbelieveable!

I started a new Bible Study. It is Beth Moore's study of the book of Daniel. It is soooo awesome. Everyone needs this. The basic gist of it is Living a life of integrity in this world where overindulgence and self absorption is rampant. I am excited to meet tonight and see what comes next. I have to finish my homework first, though. Whoops!

Tomorrow I am going on a Women's retreat with Cindy and lots of other ladies from Trietsch. The focus is The Five Love Languages and the other peripheral books that have stemmed from that. It should be a fun and rewarding weekend!

I signed on with Facebook last week and have been not so impressed with it (Okay, I haven't given it too much of a chance yet) BUT... I did hear from an old neighbor from Az. who I had massive crush on for years...yes years. He has a long time wife and two precious kids. It is so neat to hear from somebody like that after so long. He had more to do with us than just my silly crush after I developed hormones. He and his brothers and my brothers and I would play everyday. we had rock wars in the desert and swam and played all the time. His family was actually nice enough to take in our old but very loving dog when we moved to Texas.

I also like that I can get a glimpse into my cousins on the east coast and stuff too. But I need to give it more of a chance if I am going to get "hooked" like everyone I know is. It is still an afterthought for me.

OKay folks....off to Dr. Harpavat. I will update you soon. XOXOX
